Temporary suspension of Shipments to the USA.
Due to recent changes in U.S. customs policy and rapidly evolving international postal restrictions, The Silent Academy, must temporarily suspend all shipments to the United States.
As of 29 August, the U.S. has eliminated the long-standing “de minimis” exemption—previously allowing parcels under $800 to enter duty-free—and now imposes a 15% tariff on small-value packages. There is news of a flat rate $200 charge on all parcels, regardless of size or cost.
In response, major European postal operators—including Royal Mail, La Poste, Deutsche Post, Spain’s Correos, Poste Italiane, and others—have suspended most merchandise shipments to the U.S., citing uncertainty over how to calculate and collect duties.
This suspension significantly impacts small businesses like ours that rely on affordable, reliable postal services. The Silent Academy has always worked to make all of our work financially accessible to all people. We regret any disruption to our U.S. friends and supporters.
We will resume shipments as soon as clarity returns to transatlantic postal operations.
